La siguiente canción me hace recordar mucho mi época de universitario, recuerdo que era allá por el año 2003 cuando esta y otras canciones andaban sonando duro en la radio y pues yo simplemente me quedé con la siguiente rola porque de ahí en adelante ya no supe bien qué pasó con esta banda llamada Good Charlotte, ahh sí, recuerdo que también sacaron un vídeo donde salían vestidos de botargas pero esa no la ligo con algún evento o cosa importante de mi vida, pero estaba chistosa ...

The Young and the Hopeless es el segundo álbum de Good Charlotte, lanzado el 1 de octubre del 2002. El título es una variación del título de Opera The Young and the Restless. Éste fue certificado con 4 discos de platino por la RIAA el 19 de Febrero del 2004.
El álbum está influenciado en los años 80's. La carátula del álbum es la foto de una familia sentada alrededor de la televisión, mirando algo que se parece a The Day After, una película hecha en medio de los 80's acerca de las acocalípticas compras hechas durante la Guerra Fría. El primer sencillo del álbum, "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous", es una obvia referencia al show del mismo nombre, de los años 80's. La séptima pista del álbum, "My Bloody Valentine", hace referencia al film del año 1981, My Bloody Valentine, o a la banda formada en el año 1984, del mismo nombre. El décimo track del álbum, "Say Anything", refiere al film romántico del año 1989, "Say Anything".

Good Charlotte es una banda de neo punk*, formada en 1996, fundada por los hermanos gemelos Madden. Toman el nombre del título de un libro infantil de Carol Beach York: "Good Charlotte: The Girls Of Good Day Orphanage".
Para quien se pregunte que es el neo punk*, mal llamado punk rock, es el nombre dado en latinoamerica (principalmente en Colombia[1] ) a una tendencia musical que surgió en California, Estados Unidos, como “revitalización” del punk tradicional (inglés) al final de la década de los años 1980, bajo la influencia del hardcore punk, el rock punk y el pop punk. A la cual se le conoce internacionalmente como Pop Punk o en algunos casos como Punk Rock. El neo punk se plantea principalmente hacer del punk un ritmo más amable y melódico.Es una mezcla entre el rock alternativo y el punk rock , es decir toma esos dos géneros para crear un punk melódico.*
