pulposo pero sabroso

Desde me parece principios de año (bueno, la neta es que no me acuerdo bien) pero más o menos pasó que anunciaron un par de eventos que fueron noticia muy sonada en el tuister una de estás, más bien las dos ya pasaron, la primera en la lista fue que regresaban The Arctic Monkeys y la otra es que venía por primera vez la banda británica (que ya se había separado, tomado un descanso) Pulp.


De ahí que la fecha para la preventa con el plástico lo hicieron el 14 de febrero -ja- ese día ni me acordé de ello, pero además ni iba a poder ponerme al tiro con eso puesto que para esa fecha (y ahora) no tenía lo suficiente como para comprarlos, y es que al decir que era la primera vez que venían después de ya muchos años pensé que se iban a agotar en chinga-loca. Pero no fue así.


Al ver que el toquín lo iban a dar dos meses después pensé que iba a poder conseguir algo de baro para ir a los boletos más baratos (que de hecho creo que hasta está mejor, ya no me gusta en pista como antes) pero las circunstancias no se fueron dando como yo quería pues tenía/tengo que pagar ciertos gastos los cuales tienen mayor prioridad que esto, y pues así fue.


Pues extrañamente no se abarrotó el lugar ya que hasta el mismo día aún habían boletos para todas las secciones, yo creo que a lo mejor fue porque no muchos conocen a Pulp, es lo que más creo ya que es de relevancia a la altura de Oasis, Blur (son contemporanéos) en fin, al final de cuenta yo no fuí (my sister and her boyfriend si fueron).


Aunque para ser sinceros de Pulp nomás conozco dos rolas, a lo mejor he escuchado otras pero no me sé su nombre como estas dos que seguramente igual las conocen de cajón : Disco 2000 (canción que conocí en un cassette que compré hace añejos, cuando iba en la secundaria allá por el '96-'97) y esta otra llamada Bad Cover Version donde reunen a un buen de cantantes para interpretarla, desde Robbie Williams, George Michel, David Bowie, Jamiroquia, etc.

The song details the protagonist's belief that his former partner's current relationship is inferior to what she had with him. The latter part of the song is a list of things the narrator likens said relationship to, including The Rolling Stones since the 1980s, the TV adaptation of Planet of the Apes, and later episodes of Tom and Jerry where Tom and Jerry could talk.


Most notable is the reference to and "The second side of 'Til The Band Comes In", a 1970 album by Scott Walker. Walker was the producer of Bad Cover Version, along with the rest of the We Love Life album. 'Til The Band Comes In contains original songs on side 1, and cover songs on side 2. Critical reaction was that the covers let the album down, an opinion which Walker himself has now admitted he shares, stating that the inclusion of covers was a compromise with the record company. Pulp singer and lyricist Jarvis Cocker has stated that the lyrics were written and finalised before he knew that Walker would be involved.


The song's video features many celebrity lookalikes who gather in a West London studio to perform a "tribute" to Pulp, in a similar style to the video for Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?". All the lookalikes appear to perform their own lines in the style of the artists they are impersonating, with the exception of the Jarvis Cocker lookalike, who is miming to Cocker's vocal. Cocker himself appears in the video dressed as Brian May, playing the guitar notes that ends the song. Kurt Cobain, who died in 1994, is the only impersonated artist who wasn't alive at the time of the song's release. The video caused some confusion with many casual viewers not realising that this was not the proper version of the song and not knowing who it was actually by.
